GTA 6 and Lazlow: the GTA radio voice now at Absurd Ventures

Lazlow Jones wrote, produced and hosted Grand Theft Auto's satirical radio for nearly two decades. He left Rockstar in 2020 and is a founding member of Absurd Ventures, the studio Dan Houser runs.

Lazlow Jones produced Grand Theft Auto's radio and street dialogue from GTA III in 2001 onward, hosting Chatterbox FM and V-Rock. According to VGC, he left Rockstar in late 2020 after 19 years and joined Dan Houser's Absurd Ventures in June 2021. Rockstar's GTA 6 music page of October 8, 2026 credits six pairs of hosts, including Bad Bunny and Lana Del Rey.

Lazlow, born Jeffrey Crawford Jones on September 4, 1973, wrote, produced and hosted Grand Theft Auto’s radio from 2001 to 2020. He left Rockstar Games for Absurd Ventures, the studio founded by Dan Houser, and is not among the hosts Rockstar credited on October 8, 2026 for Grand Theft Auto VI, due November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

From Chatterbox FM to Integrity 2.0

He kept a real radio career alongside: The Lazlow Show aired on WXRK-FM in New York in 2005, then on XM Satellite Radio until January 2, 2010. He told ShortList when the Rockstar years began: “I started working with Dan [Houser] in 2001 on GTA 3.” For Chatterbox FM’s callers, he recruited his neighbors and their kids.

Game Release His role, per Wikipedia
Grand Theft Auto III 2001 co-wrote the radio with Dan Houser, hosted Chatterbox FM
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City 2002 his company co-wrote and produced every station, he hosted V-Rock
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas 2004 co-wrote the in-game media, hosted Entertaining America on WCTR
Grand Theft Auto IV 2008 hosted Integrity 2.0, credited for pedestrian dialogue

VGC describes him as co-chair of Rockstar’s production department, “responsible for in-game creative audio and video content,” and “perhaps best known for producing the dialogue for Grand Theft Auto’s characters and satirical radio stations, as well as appearing in the series.” ShortList adds that he turns up in every mainline entry, including GTA V, where players meet him after a car chase.

Leaving Rockstar in 2020

The two dates in circulation disagree. VGC wrote on November 28, 2023 that he “left Rockstar in late 2020 after 19 years at the company.” Wikipedia says April 2020, “for personal reasons,” citing a Digital Trends story published August 14, 2020.

The same VGC report says he joined Absurd Ventures in June 2021 as a founding member, a move that only became public in November 2023, along with the arrival of GTA V co-writer Michael Unsworth. On February 1, 2025, VGC again placed him beside Dan Houser as the studio unveiled the Absurdaverse, twenty characters built for an action-comedy game.

Who hosts GTA 6’s radio

Rockstar’s official music page, published October 8, 2026, credits six pairs of hosts. Rolling Stone named them, among them Bad Bunny and RaiNao on Cocoteo FM, Lana Del Rey and Morgan Wallen on Back Country Radio, and Slayer’s Kerry King and Tom Araya on The Chamber 106.6. All six stations are listed in our GTA 6 radio stations report.

As of October 12, 2026, neither Rockstar nor the press has tied Lazlow Jones to GTA 6. Flash FM, a Vice City station back in 2002, does return, now hosted by Robyn and Alex Consani.
