GTA 6 launch trailer is out, scored by Justice and shot on PS5

Rockstar Games released the GTA 6 launch trailer on October 15, 2026, 35 days before the November 19 release. The 90-second video was captured on PS5, and its description names Justice as the game's composer.

: Added: Jason's North Fort Law Army shirt and Marauder tattoo, plus Vice City police officer Mendez, as spotted by IGN France.

Rockstar Games released the GTA 6 launch trailer on YouTube on October 15, 2026, 35 days before the game ships on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The video runs about 90 seconds and was captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5. Its song, 'Flower in a Hurricane,' comes from Justice, whom Rockstar names as composers of the game's original score.

Rockstar Games posted the Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer to its YouTube channel at 1 p.m. UTC on October 15, 2026. Titled “Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer,” it runs about 90 seconds, per The Verge, and closes on the release date: November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. That is 35 days away.

Two lines in the official description stand out. One says “This trailer was captured entirely in-game from a PlayStation 5.” The other introduces “new music from electronic duo Justice, composers of the original score from Grand Theft Auto VI.”

The song is “Flower in a Hurricane,” a standalone Justice single featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, out the same day. It also appears on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the 34-track soundtrack announced on September 17, 2026, which Rockstar says is up for pre-save on streaming services and pre-order on vinyl or CD at gtavi-thealbum.com. As PC Gamer points out, the first two trailers used licensed songs instead: Tom Petty’s “Love Is a Long Road” in December 2023, then the Pointer Sisters’ “Hot Together” in May 2025.

Lucia’s ankle monitor and Jason’s Army past

The description repeats the official story setup: “Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America.” Polygon reports that Jason takes a call from Lucia while she is in prison, and that he says he was discharged from the Army early, for a reason the trailer leaves open. GameSpot and IGN both place him at work on a marina when the call comes, buffing a boat.

IGN France picked out more of that backstory on October 16, 2026. In one shot Jason wears a U.S. Army T-shirt naming a combat training school at North Fort Law, the military base from the very first Grand Theft Auto. The word “Marauder” sits with the skull-and-parachute tattoo on his arm. IGN France reads it as the name of his unit, possibly a nod to Merrill’s Marauders, the 1940s special forces outfit whose modern successor is the 75th Ranger Regiment.

Polygon, Eurogamer and Numerama all spotted Lucia wearing an ankle monitor during a shower scene she shares with Jason. Eurogamer adds that the trailer opens on the Keys, an area it calls “largely unexplored in prior trailers and gameplay footage.”

Mendez, an officer of the Vice City Police Department, gets a single shot. IGN France expects him to become one of the main antagonists, comparing him to Officer Tenpenny from San Andreas. Rockstar has not named any antagonist so far.

French outlet Numerama noticed one more detail at the very end. The voice reading out the release date is the same one that announced GTA V’s date in its own launch trailer in 2013. GameSpot noted the PlayStation branding throughout, down to a DualSense-style controller on screen.

The video lands 49 days after An Extended Look, the 26-minute-48-second showing that premiered on Netflix on August 27, 2026. Like that one, it carries no number: Rockstar has still never released anything called Trailer 3.
