GTA 6 map: Vice City and the six regions Rockstar names
Rockstar Games described six destinations on its Only in Leonida page on May 6, 2025, and that text is the official geography of GTA 6. Ahead of the November 19, 2026 launch, two of the six are placed inside the state.
: Adds Project Americas, the first plan for the map, which Bloomberg reports spanned North and South America before shrinking to Miami.

Rockstar Games has never released a map of GTA 6. The official geography of Leonida is six destinations, named and described on May 6, 2025: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park. The studio has never given a surface area, never published a list of counties, and never said how many neighborhoods Vice City has ahead of the November 19, 2026 release.
Rockstar Games has never released a GTA 6 map. Ahead of the November 19, 2026 release, the whole official geography of GTA 6 sits in six destinations, described on May 6, 2025 on the Only in Leonida page.
Only two of the six are positioned inside the state. Mount Kalaga National Park sits “up against the state’s northern border”, and Ambrosia is “in the heart of Leonida”.
| Destination | Where Rockstar places it | What the studio puts there |
|---|---|---|
| Vice City | not stated | The state’s metropolis, and four named locations: Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, the Tisha-Wocka flea market, the VC Port |
| Leonida Keys | a tropical archipelago, next to dangerous waters | Loaded bars and a casual dress code. No island is ever named |
| Grassrivers | not stated | Wetlands, the famous gators, and deadlier predators among the mangroves |
| Port Gellhorn | “Leonida’s forgotten coast” | Cheap motels, shut-down attractions, empty strip malls, a dirt bike |
| Ambrosia | the heart of the state | The Allied Crystal sugar refinery and the local biker gang |
| Mount Kalaga National Park | against the northern border | Hunting, fishing and off-road trails, with paranoid radicals in the backwoods |
The Extended Look of August 27, 2026 shows all six, Vice noted the next day. The video adds three places, logged by SVG: Bayside, a Vice City neighborhood Lucia names during a police chase, the rooftop bar Effluvia, and the headquarters of Megamundo, a fictional TV network. The launch trailer of October 15, 2026 opens on the Keys, “largely unexplored in prior trailers and gameplay footage,” Eurogamer noted.
Six more places, named in a store listing
The Microsoft Store listing for the Ultimate Edition Upgrade, checked on September 2, 2026, attaches each bonus in the module to a place, and names six that Only in Leonida never mentions: Washington Beach, where the Shitzu Squalo watercraft is moored, Gambit Bay, the only fishing spot Rockstar has named, Watson Bay and its Paradise Garage, Stockyard, Lake Leonida, and the Southside of Vice City.

What Florida gives the six destinations
Rob Nelson, co-studio head at Rockstar North, described the method behind the map in an interview published on August 27, 2026 by the French magazine TroisCouleurs: the team blocks out its areas roughly where they sit in the real world, then accentuates whatever it wants to bring forward. He calls the result “a warped sort of version of reality.” He also names what Florida had to give the game: “We want to include the Everglades, and we want to include some of these towns outside of Miami.”
Jason Schreier’s Bloomberg feature of October 14, 2026, via Eurogamer, says the project, then called Project Americas, “aimed to feature big swaths of land across both North and South America” before shrinking to Miami and its surroundings.
The wetlands Rockstar calls Grassrivers are those Everglades, NME wrote the same day.
Asked by Game Informer about Disney World, SeaWorld and Universal Studios, Paul MacPherson, Rockstar’s senior vice president of environment art, answered: “while we may not have those exact locations, everything we have is geared to getting that full Florida experience!” (IGN, September 30, 2026).
More than 50 real street artists painted the murals of Stockyard, the Vice City neighborhood modelled on Miami’s Wynwood, Dazed reported on August 26, 2026. Little Cuba is the stand-in for Little Havana, GTA Intel wrote on June 7, 2026. GTABase’s map prints “Little Havana”, the real Miami name: Rockstar’s text says Little Cuba.

The size question, and what Rockstar leaves out
The ratios quoted everywhere come from a spoken line by Rob Nelson, given to the YouTuber TGG during a July 2026 preview and published by Kotaku on August 27, 2026: twice the GTA 5 map, three times Red Dead Redemption 2, Vice City twice the size of Los Santos. He adds a fourth ratio for the wider urban area: “Vice City and its surrounding suburbs is 11 times bigger than Los Santos and its surroundings.” On September 29, 2026, Aaron Garbut, Rockstar North’s other co-studio head, repeated only the first in Game Informer, calling Leonida Rockstar’s biggest map “by some degree,” around twice GTA 5’s, per VGC, and said the team had hit “a critical mass with the numbers of our interiors.” IGN’s report on the same issue puts the map at “three times larger” than both GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, a figure Garbut’s own line contradicts. Player measurements relayed by Newsweek put the GTA 5 map at 75.84 square kilometers and Red Dead Redemption 2 at roughly 75: one map cannot be twice the first and three times the second, as the surface figures lay out.
No surface area, county list or coastline has been published. The in-game pause menu map uses satellite-style imagery, Vice reported on August 27, 2026. The story skips part of the map. “We don’t have time to take you everywhere, but we want to be able to explore and get a feel for most of the places, cultures, and vibes,” Rupert Humphries, Rockstar’s senior vice president of narrative, told Game Informer in the issue posted September 29, per TheGamer.
In the full transcript of his July 2026 demo, published by IGN on October 7, 2026, Nelson adds no number: “It’s a big map, a very big map.” Much of it, he says, is meant to be found without “objectives or blips or icons on a map.”
Where the leaked GTA 6 maps going around actually come from
Two sets of leaked images have been taken for the official GTA 6 map. The first, shared without permission from August 18, 2026 onward, is not reproduced here. The second comes from the creator TJGM, who loaded GTA 6 map work pulled from the 192GB back in circulation into GTA 5 on September 18, 2026. He calls that map “very unfinished” and dates it to 2015.
