GTA 6 collector's edition: what GTA V's $149.99 box held
GTA 6 arrives on November 19, 2026 in two editions, at $79.99 and $99.99. Neither is a collector's edition, and the two boxes Rockstar has sold before were revealed more than four months ahead of their games.

Rockstar Games has announced no collector's edition of GTA 6. Since June 24, 2026 the game exists in two editions only: Standard at $79.99, the only one sold in a box, and Ultimate at $99.99, digital only. The GTA V Collector's Edition and the Red Dead Redemption 2 Collector's Box were revealed 117 and 144 days before their games shipped. Only 66 days remain before November 19, 2026.
Rockstar Games has announced no collector’s edition of Grand Theft Auto VI. Since June 24, 2026, the day Take-Two laid out how the game would be sold, there are two editions and no others: Standard at $79.99, Ultimate at $99.99. No box of goods, no statue, no steelbook, no printed map.
Rockstar support describes the only edition stocked in shops in one line: “The Grand Theft Auto VI: Standard Edition includes the game.” The box holds a download code rather than a disc, and Rockstar says so twice: “A disc will not be included in the box.” The Ultimate has no physical version at all. What it adds is sixteen pieces of digital content, listed one by one in our guide to both editions and set side by side in the edition comparator.

What Rockstar used to put in a box
The question keeps coming back because the two precedents were generous.
| Box | Price | Physical contents | Game included? |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTA V Collector’s Edition, 2013 | $149.99 | Security deposit bag with a laser-cut logo key, New Era 9FIFTY snapback cap, SteelBook, 21.5 by 26.75 inch Blueprint Map, foil-embossed outer box | Yes |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 Collector’s Box, 2018 | $99.99 | Metal tithing box with lock and key, buffalo challenge coin, 100-piece wooden puzzle, bandana, treasure map, six pins, playing cards, 150-page catalogue, 12 cigarette cards | No, sold separately |
The Red Dead box is the more useful precedent of the two. At $99.99 it did not contain the game, and Rockstar printed the caveat in the announcement itself: “Red Dead Redemption 2 sold separately.” The GTA V box did include the game, at $149.99 against $59.99 for the standard edition of the day, a $90 gap. The $20 between Standard and Ultimate today is a different kind of upsell.
The announcement window closed in July
Rockstar revealed the GTA V Collector’s Edition on May 23, 2013 for a September 17 launch: 117 days of lead time. The Red Dead Redemption 2 Collector’s Box arrived on June 4, 2018 for October 26: 144 days. Both opened pre-orders the same day they were announced, because a manufactured run in limited quantity has to be committed early.
GTA 6 ships on November 19, 2026. As of September 14, 2026, 66 days remain. The Red Dead lead time ran out on June 28, the GTA V one on July 25, and pre-orders for the game itself have been open since June 25 with no second product line appearing behind them. Rockstar Games has never said there will be no collector’s edition. It has said nothing at all, with less runway left than it gave itself twice before.
What the retailers are telling buyers
By June 26, 2026 the question was common enough that shops were answering it on their own product pages. MediaMarkt wrote in its FAQ: “Rockstar Games has not announced any collector’s edition of GTA 6 to date. The only official edition confirmed at the moment is the standard edition at €79.99.” The retailer is right about the box and wrong about the rest, since Ultimate had been announced two days earlier.
The check takes two clicks, and it will work for any future claim as well: a GTA 6 edition appears on the Rockstar Games editions page and in its store, or it does not exist. On September 14, 2026 those two pages list two. A pre-order placed elsewhere on the promise of a collector’s box is a pre-order for the Standard Edition.
What early buyers do get is the Vintage Vice City Pack, a 1955 Vapid Stanier with its garage, outfits and a weapon pattern, on any pre-order placed before November 20, 2026, on either edition. It is digital, like everything else here. The only object GTA 6 will put in a box on November 12, 2026 is a piece of card with a code printed on it.
