GTA 6 refueling takes about 10 seconds, creator TGG says

Gas stations in GTA 6 repair cars, fill tanks and recharge electric vehicles. Australian creator TGG puts the refueling scene at about 10 seconds, and Rob Nelson commented on it while the preview ran.

Refueling a car in GTA 6 would trigger a cutscene of about 10 seconds, according to Australian creator TGG, who watched an extended preview overseen by Rob Nelson, co-director of Rockstar North. PC Gamer reported his account on September 5, 2026. Gas stations also repair cars and recharge electric vehicles. Rockstar Games has published nothing on fuel management.

Filling up a car in Grand Theft Auto VI would trigger a cutscene of about 10 seconds. Australian creator TGG, who saw an extended preview of the game overseen by Rob Nelson, co-director of Rockstar North, gave that figure. PC Gamer reported his account on September 5, 2026, crediting GamesRadar+.

Nelson commented on the pump scene as it played:

“Hey, that’s pretty fast for a fill up. You can’t complain about that.”

PC Gamer writes that the mechanic splits players: one camp reads it as a cut in the driving-and-shooting rhythm the series is built on. Rob Nelson did not brush the question aside. He said “We’ll see what people say” in front of TGG, then asked him “Do you think people are going to like it?”

Gas stations do more than fill a tank. TGG says they also repair cars and recharge electric vehicles. That vehicles burn fuel had already come out of the late-August previews: ComicBook wrote on August 28, 2026 that a stolen car can be left with an almost empty tank, in a game where stealing a car is no longer one button press.

Rockstar has never shown a fuel gauge

Numerama asked where it went on August 29, 2026: driving footage attributed to the CyberLeek group, published without authorization, shows a fuel gauge and an engine condition readout that do not appear the same way in the official Extended Look of August 27, 2026. The site put forward two readings, a feature dropped after testing or a gauge moved into a reworked interface, and settled on neither. Rockstar Games has published nothing on the matter.

TGG’s account also leaves out how fast a tank empties, what a fill-up costs, and whether the system can be turned off in the options. He was among the creators hosted at Rockstar North in July 2026 according to The Verge, sessions held without a controller as MP1st reported on August 19, 2026, and PC Gamer does not say whether he held one this time. With 75 days left to November 19, 2026, everything Rockstar has said about fuel sits inside a question Rob Nelson put to a guest.
