GTA 6 reused a Red Dead Redemption 2 backdrop in a TV ad

The GTA 6 Easter egg hunt started months ahead of the November 19, 2026 release. One find holds up so far: a parody TV ad in the Extended Look was shot on Red Dead Redemption 2 ground.

GTA6 LIFE

The Prairie Sandwich Box Meal parody ad, at 7 minutes 34 into the GTA 6 Extended Look broadcast on August 27, 2026, was shot against a Red Dead Redemption 2 landscape north of Annesburg. VGC reported it on August 28, 2026, crediting a player known as s1nicki, who matched the bend of the river, two large rocks and a leaning tree. Rockstar Games has said nothing about it.

Seven minutes and 34 seconds into the Grand Theft Auto VI Extended Look, a parody commercial plays on the television in Jason’s apartment. It sells a Prairie Sandwich Box Meal, and the scenery behind it was not built for the shot: it is a Red Dead Redemption 2 landscape, north of Annesburg, VGC reported on August 28, 2026.

The match came from a player, s1nicki, and rests on three markers: the bend of the river, two large rocks and a leaning tree. The sandwich itself had already caught the press invited to Rockstar North. IGN logged it on August 27, 2026, billed at 30,000 calories, next to a parody antidepressant called Angstipan, part of a satire the game runs through radio and television.

The hunt started before the game

Those few seconds sit inside a 26 minute 48 second video, and they are what the community has been combing since. On September 4, 2026, jeuxvideo.com described an Easter egg hunt already under way before launch: trailers, official screenshots and the August 27 gameplay read frame by frame, with 76 days left to November 19, 2026.

Everything else is a wish list. The references players name run from Call of Duty to Dark Souls, from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to Dexter and Miami Vice, and many are asking for a nod to Ray Liotta, the voice of Tommy Vercetti in GTA Vice City back in 2002. None has been seen in an image Rockstar published.

Rockstar Games has commented on none of it. The August 27 video runs with no commentary, no voice-over and no explanatory card, as the BBC noted the day it aired: whatever is in there has to be found in the picture.
