GTA 6 headsets: six picks for PS5 and Xbox, $57.99 to $199.99

GTA 6 ships November 19, 2026 and leans on the PS5's Tempest 3D audio, which only three Sony headsets decode natively. The September 14, 2026 shortlist holds six headsets, all shipped by Amazon in the United States and in France, from $57.99 to $199.99.

: Shortlist rebuilt on September 14, 2026: the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 3 gives way to the JBL Quantum 360X and the Astro A20 X, the Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 now shows in its PS5 and Xbox builds, and every button leads to the product's Amazon listing for the reader's country.

A headset bought for GTA 6 comes down to battery life and the console it serves, not a blanket 3D-audio promise: Tempest 3D decodes natively only on the Pulse Elite, the Pulse 3D and the INZONE H5. The Pulse Elite stays the PS5 pick at $149 on September 13, 2026. On Xbox the JBL Quantum 360X at $109.95 is the cheapest wireless option, and the Astro A20 X at $149.99 plugs a PS5 and an Xbox into one transmitter. The wired HyperX Cloud III opens the list at $57.99.

A headset bought for Grand Theft Auto VI comes down to battery life and the console it serves, not a blanket 3D-audio promise. It is one line of a setup built for GTA 6, next to the screen and the SSD. The PS5’s Tempest 3D audio, which Sony lists among the four features GTA 6 uses in its June 24, 2026 post, decodes natively on only three of its own headsets: the Pulse Elite, the Pulse 3D and the INZONE H5, per GamingLab on May 15, 2026. The rest let the console do the render and simply pass the sound through. Six headsets make the September 14, 2026 shortlist, from $57.99 for the wired HyperX Cloud III to $199.99 for the Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2, all shipped by Amazon in the United States and in France.

Native means one precise thing: on the Pulse Elite, the Pulse 3D and the INZONE H5, the spatial mix stays Sony’s own Tempest engine. A third-party headset gets the same stream, then adds its own software layer on top. That is the whole gap the word covers, and it does not leave the other headsets silent.

The wired HyperX Cloud III is the entry point at $57.99 on September 13, 2026: one cable, USB-C, USB-A or a 3.5 mm jack, nothing to recharge, PS5 and Xbox alike. The Pulse Elite, the PS5 pick at $149 the same day, adds native Tempest 3D audio, planar magnetic drivers and 30 hours claimed by PlayStation. Of the three headsets that decode Tempest natively, it is the only one that still has an Amazon listing in both countries: the 2020 Pulse 3D has no Amazon.com page left, and Amazon France offered a single used unit on September 14, 2026.

A headset you already own may not plug in. The PS5 ignores plain Bluetooth audio, Radio87 wrote on March 14, 2026, and AirPods do not hold up in game: you need a 2.4 GHz USB dongle, a wired link, or the DualSense’s 3.5 mm jack. SteelSeries’ Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 settles that with its dongle, and comes in two builds at the same $199.99 on September 13, 2026: the 7P, whose transmitter talks to the PS5, and the 7X, whose transmitter talks to the Series X|S and also takes the PS5 and PC. Same headset, over 50 hours of battery, and the game over 2.4 GHz while the phone stays on Bluetooth.

On Xbox the JBL Quantum 360X is the cheapest wireless headset on the page at $109.95 on September 14, 2026, with a 2.4 GHz dongle for the console, Bluetooth for the phone and 22 hours claimed by JBL. It takes the slot of the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 3 Xbox, $99.00 on September 13, 2026, which leaves because the shortlist is now the same on both stores, and in France the JBL undercuts it by 34 €. Logitech G’s Astro A20 X, $149.99 on September 13, 2026, is the only headset here whose transmitter takes two consoles at once: one port for the PS5 or PC, one for the Xbox, one button to switch. A home with both machines skips the second headset.

Every button in the comparison leads to the product’s own Amazon listing for the reader’s country, amazon.com in the United States and amazon.fr in France. All six were shipped by Amazon there on September 13 and 14, 2026, and sold by Amazon on eleven listings out of twelve, the Pulse Elite’s American page being held by a reseller.
