GTA 6 trailer 3: what Rockstar showed, and what it didn't

With 76 days left before the November 19, 2026 launch, players are still hunting for a GTA 6 trailer 3. There isn't one: Rockstar Games' third video is called An Extended Look, runs 26 minutes, and has never carried that number.

GTA6 LIFE

No official GTA 6 video is called Trailer 3. After Trailer 1 (December 4, 2023) and Trailer 2 (May 6, 2025), the third big video, released on August 27, 2026, is titled Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look and runs 26 minutes 49 seconds. The press nicknamed it trailer 3, but Rockstar Games has never used that number, and nothing points to a video that will.

No official Grand Theft Auto VI video is called Trailer 3. On Rockstar Games’ product page, checked on August 28, 2026, three videos are listed in this order: An Extended Look, Watch Trailer 2, Watch Trailer 1. The third big video, released on August 27, 2026, is titled Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, runs 26 minutes 49 seconds, and was captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5. The word Trailer is not in its title.

Trailer 1 arrived on December 4, 2023 and runs 91 seconds; Trailer 2 followed on May 6, 2025 at 2 minutes 47. Both carry the word Trailer in their official title on Rockstar’s YouTube channel. An Extended Look does not. Rockstar went from Trailer 2 straight to An Extended Look, 478 days later, roughly fifteen and a half months, without ever numbering a trailer 3.

The three big videos, in the order they went out:

Video Date Length
Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 1 December 4, 2023 1 min 31
Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 2 May 6, 2025 2 min 47
Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look August 27, 2026 26 min 49

Fans spent that wait begging for a trailer 3, as Kotaku noted on August 6, 2026. The press kept the word once the video landed: Polygon’s headline reads “GTA 6’s third and final trailer is here, locking down release date,” and French outlet VideoDL called it “la troisième bande-annonce de GTA VI.” The trailer 3 label is a convenience for press and players, not a word Rockstar has ever used.

What Rockstar said

Rockstar announced the video on August 6, 2026, calling it a first-of-its-kind partnership with Netflix: it premiered on the service on August 27, then landed six hours later, free, on YouTube and the game’s site. Netflix published the official description: “Captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5, this extended look at the next Grand Theft Auto showcases the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet. Grand Theft Auto VI plays best on PlayStation 5. Coming November 19.”

The video reached every Netflix subscriber worldwide, subtitled in thirteen languages. Netflix quoted Brandon Riegg, its vice president of nonfiction series: “Grand Theft Auto reveals have become cultural moments in their own right. The anticipation and fandom around Grand Theft Auto VI is unprecedented, and we’re honored that Rockstar Games has partnered with us to debut the next part of the Grand Theft Auto story with Netflix members first.” Rockstar let creators share commented clips, but barred anyone from posting the full 26-minute video.

The audience showed up. Netflix reported 31.1 million views in four days, from August 27 to 30, and the top spot on its English-language film chart in 87 of the 93 countries it tracks, a number VGC also carried on September 2. On YouTube, where the count works differently, An Extended Look passed 17 million views on Rockstar’s channel alone by September 1, while Trailer 1 sits at 294 million and Trailer 2 at 181 million as of September 3, per Gamekult.

Take-Two had warned this was only a start. On August 10, 2026, CEO Strauss Zelnick called it “one of the hors d’oeuvres” and added, “There’s appetizers, main course and dessert to follow.” GTA 6’s marketing runs about five months, against the roughly 22 months Rockstar spent on GTA V, and Zelnick had framed it back on May 21: “13 years ago we were still buying network television. We won’t be buying a lot of network television.”

What Rockstar didn’t say

Rockstar never released the runtime before the premiere; the 26-minute figure was first spotted by players in the Netflix app’s listing, per Kotaku. An Extended Look shows no GTA Online and says nothing about multiplayer, the BBC noted on August 27. No PC version was announced either: the game stays on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for November 19, 2026.

So what about number 3? As of September 4, 2026, and despite Zelnick’s promise, no further official video has been dated, and nothing in Rockstar’s messaging suggests a video titled Trailer 3 will ever arrive.
