GTA 6 fan measured oxygen outside Rockstar North, YouTuber says
A fan logged oxygen readings outside Rockstar's Edinburgh campus to work out how many developers were still inside after 5pm. YouTuber Mike ShowSha says Rockstar staff told him the story during his studio visit.

According to Italian YouTuber Mike ShowSha, in a video of August 28, 2026 reported by IGN on September 2, a GTA 6 fan measured the oxygen level in the air around the Rockstar North campus in Edinburgh, hoping the reading would show how many staff were inside and when the next trailer was due. The X account @GTAVI_Countdown had posted the numbers on June 7, 2026: around 20.3% and 20.04% after 5pm. Rockstar has published nothing, and no Trailer 3 followed.

Italian YouTuber Mike ShowSha says Rockstar staff told him that a GTA 6 fan had been measuring the oxygen level in the air around the Rockstar North campus in Edinburgh, to work out how many developers were still at their desks after 5pm and, from that, when the next trailer was due. ShowSha was invited to the studio’s offices before the Extended Look aired, and posted the account in a video on August 28, 2026. IGN reported his comments on September 2, 2026, in a machine translation from Italian.
Guys, I’ve been told some weird things. Like, there are people who measure oxygen levels, I don’t know how they do it, but they told me this at Rockstar, so I’d tend to believe them, because if there’s a sign that suggests there are more people inside the studios, it means development has increased, and therefore it’s about to happen. It’s crazy.
The readings themselves are older. On June 7, 2026, the X account @GTAVI_Countdown, quoted by IGN, wrote that the fan had watched the level fall to “around 20.3% and 20.04%” after 5pm and concluded that Trailer 3 was close. The same fan had set up audio equipment outside the campus, camped there, and counted staff going in and out.
Inside that one article, the story comes in two versions that do not match. IGN’s own text says the fan’s thinking was that “if these levels increased, more staff were on site”, which is a reading that rises with the crowd. The June 7 post says the opposite, a reading that drops. Neither says what instrument produced the numbers.
Trailer 3 never came. The rockstargames.com/VI product page lists three video entries and no more: An Extended Look, Trailer 2 and Trailer 1. What did arrive, 81 days after the June 7 post, was the Extended Look of August 27, 2026, which Netflix carried six hours before YouTube.
IGN’s headline says Rockstar confirmed this. It did not. No employee is named, Rockstar has published nothing about the episode, and the only account of it is ShowSha’s, whose name is absent from the list of guests The Verge compiled on August 27, 2026: IGN, The New York Times, Kinda Funny, YouTuber TGG and Dazed.
