GTA 6 streamer mode would cut copyrighted radio music
All 14 songs counted in the Extended Look are licensed records, and a stream that plays them invites a copyright claim. YouTuber TGG says GTA 6 carries a toggle that cuts them.

A setting would strip copyrighted music out of GTA 6 during live streams and video, according to YouTuber TGG, who was hosted at Rockstar North before the Extended Look. He posted it on X on August 28, 2026. Rockstar Games has published nothing about such a setting, and nothing says the muted tracks would be replaced. GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026.
Grand Theft Auto VI would carry a setting that cuts copyrighted music out of live streams and recorded video. TGG, the YouTuber hosted at Rockstar North before the Extended Look of August 27, 2026, posted it on X the next day, in one line:
“GTA 6 will have a copyright-free music toggle for all content creators wondering.”
That is the entire claim. French site GinjFo picked it up on August 31, 2026 under the name Streamer mode, and wrote that nothing confirms the muted tracks would be swapped for stream-safe music: it presents that idea as its own guess. Rockstar Games has published no such setting, in the Extended Look Newswire post or since.
The problem is the car radio. All 14 songs the press counted in the Extended Look are licensed records, from Cliff Richard’s “Devil Woman” (1976) to Sexyy Red and Tay Keith’s “Pound Town” (2023). A stream that leaves the radio running plays them exactly as the game does.
Rockstar rents its music rather than owning it
Game music licences can run out after ten years. An April 2018 update stripped 54 songs out of GTA IV, and tracks disappeared the same way from the Vice City and San Andreas re-releases. Heaven 17 co-founder Martyn Ware says the studio offered 7,500 dollars per writer for “Temptation,” with no royalties on later sales.
What TGG watched, he watched without a controller: two and a half to three hours of the game played in front of the guests, with Rob Nelson at the pad. He does not say which stations the toggle would touch, or whether it has to be switched on before a broadcast starts. On whether Rockstar Editor, the GTA V video tool, comes back, GinjFo says it has nothing.
