GTA 6 Mount Kalaga National Park: what is actually known
Mount Kalaga National Park is one of six Leonida destinations Rockstar Games has named and described. The studio gave it two sentences on May 6, 2025, and almost everything else in circulation comes from screenshots and press readings.
GTA6 LIFE

Mount Kalaga National Park is one of the six destinations Rockstar Games has named and described in Leonida, and the only one the studio places on the state’s northern border. It went up on the “Only in Leonida” page on May 6, 2025, the day the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI landed. The game arrives November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Rockstar files the park under the heading “Wild, Wild Country”, with the tagline “Room to breathe on the state’s northern fringes.” The description that follows runs to two sentences:
A national landmark up against the state’s northern border, Mount Kalaga offers prime hunting, fishing, and off-road trails. In the lush surrounding backwoods, hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals live far from the prying eyes of the government.
That is the whole official record. Three activities, two kinds of neighbors, no town, no mission, no animal named. It has not moved since May 6, 2025.

The screenshots carry the rest. Among the 70 4K images Rockstar put out that same day, the park set shows a two-lane road winding between ochre canyon walls, a dirt bike race in a muddy pit, two hunters in camouflage crossing a pine forest, a mountain lion wading toward deer at a woodland pool, and a kayaker passing a flood gauge marked to 6 feet. There is postcard art too, stamped with a “Visit Leonida” logo.
Sorting the six details most often repeated about Mount Kalaga by where each one comes from:
| What gets said about the park | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| On the northern border of the state | Rockstar, official text, May 6, 2025 |
| Hunting, fishing, off-road trails | Rockstar, official text, May 6, 2025 |
| Hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals | Rockstar, official text, May 6, 2025 |
| Deer, mountain lions and foxes | Read off the 70 official screenshots |
| A canyon modeled on Providence Canyon State Park | A specialist-site reading, never a Rockstar line |
| Where the park sits on a map of Leonida | Nowhere: Rockstar has published no map |

Providence Canyon State Park is a real place, in southwest Georgia, well outside the Florida that Leonida stands in for. Rockstar has never printed the name.
Two accounts of the same 26 minutes
An Extended Look ran 26 minutes and 48 seconds, on Netflix on August 27, 2026 and on Rockstar’s YouTube channel six hours later. Vice listed the park the next day among the places shown outside Vice City, alongside the Leonida Keys, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Grassrivers. Engadget, writing on August 27, stopped short of the name: “The game’s map includes Vice City, the Leonida Keys (including fake Miami), plenty of swamplands, at least one national park and a seaside port.” Two newsrooms, one video. Shot by shot, the footage is in our breakdown of the 26 minutes.
One absence is worth stating plainly. Rockstar has published no map of Leonida: not with the product page, not with trailer 2 on May 6, 2025, not with the August 27, 2026 footage. The studio avoids the word “county” in its own material too, and the county names attached to the north of the state were read off road signs and sheriff badges, as GTA Intel set out on June 6, 2026. The rest of the geography is in the state of Leonida, and the size claims in our look at the 3x RDR2 figure.
