GTA 6: Raul Bautista, the bank robber with his own panel

Raul Bautista is the career bank robber of GTA 6, one of the supporting characters Rockstar Games put online on May 6, 2025. He holds a panel of the official cover art and barks the orders from the back seat of the getaway car in An Extended Look.

: Adds what Rockstar told LOVE magazine about Raul's role: the older mentor who brings Jason and Lucia into bigger jobs in Vice City.

Raul Bautista is the bank robber of GTA 6. Rockstar Games published his character page on May 6, 2025, among the Only in Leonida supporting characters, and files him under Ambrosia. The page runs to five lines, tagline included: Experience counts. He holds a panel of the official cover art, and Rockstar told LOVE magazine he is the older mentor who brings Jason and Lucia into bigger heists.

Raul Bautista is the bank robber of Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar Games published his character page on May 6, 2025, the day the second trailer landed, among the “Only in Leonida” supporting characters. His region is Ambrosia, and the game arrives November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The page runs to five lines, tagline included: “Experience counts.” The biography reads like a job offer:

Confidence, charm, and cunning: Raul’s a seasoned bank robber always on the hunt for talent ready to take the risks that bring the biggest rewards.

The two lines Rockstar puts in his mouth are “Life is full of surprises, my friend. I think we’d all be wise to remember that” and “A professional adapts”. The last line says where the story goes: “Raul’s recklessness raises the stakes with every score. Sooner or later, his crew will have to double down or pull their chips from the table.”

Rockstar discussed his place in the story in LOVE magazine’s issue 27, on sale October 5, 2026. Vice reports that the studio built him as an older mentor who brings Jason and Lucia into bigger criminal jobs, and who knows the Vice City underworld the pair are new to. RockstarINTEL quotes the brief itself: Rockstar “needed an older mentor character”.

He takes one of the nine panels on the cover art, revealed on June 18, 2026 through a 33-second video. In its breakdown of June 19, 2026, IGN reads the panel as an assault rifle branded Duke, held outside the Sinfrontera National Bank. Duke comes from Red Dead Redemption, and IGN counts it as the first time a brand from that universe has crossed into the HD universe of GTA.

He is back in the 26 minutes and 48 seconds shown on August 27, 2026. Jason and Lucia pick him up mid-getaway. Lucia drives, Bautista barks orders from the back seat and asks whether she is a professional, Jason hoses down police cars and helicopters with an assault rifle. The run ends in Bayside, a district Lucia names out loud around the 12:32 mark, where Bautista pays his two accomplices before the three of them leave in a van.

The theory that started with a t-shirt

On May 22, 2025, Spanish actor Oscar Jaenada, seen in “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon”, posted an Instagram photo wearing a t-shirt with Raul Bautista on it. The theory that gives him the part starts there, and nowhere else. Beebom wrote it up the same day, at the bottom rung of the source scale.

Rockstar Games has named no actor for any character in GTA 6, and the August 27 footage ends without a cast list. Beyond calling him older, the studio has given no age and no date of birth. One last point, since the mistake keeps travelling through character lists: Radio Times writes “Raul Batista”, without the u. Rockstar writes Raul Bautista.
