GTA 6 fastest car: Rockstar has published no top speeds
No GTA 6 car has a published top speed, 76 days before the November 19, 2026 launch. Rockstar Games has released no performance data at all, and the exotics spotted in the August 27 Extended Look do not even carry an in-game marque.

No GTA 6 car has a published top speed as of September 4, 2026: neither the official Rockstar Games product page nor the editions page carries a single performance figure. The only car the studio calls a sports car is the '95 Grotti Cheetah, an Ultimate Edition bonus. The fast cars Jalopnik spotted in the August 27, 2026 Extended Look carry no in-game name, and no lap time can be measured before November 19, 2026.
Not one GTA 6 car has a published top speed. Checked on September 4, 2026: the Grand Theft Auto VI product page and the editions page carry no acceleration figure, no speed figure and no handling data. The game ships on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, 76 days from now, and nobody outside Rockstar Games has played it. A speed ranking today rests on nothing that was measured.
The only car Rockstar itself calls a sports car is the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, an Ultimate Edition bonus. The Microsoft Store listing, written by the publisher, describes it as “Grotti’s signature mid ’90s sports car, complete with a retro-futuristic livery to punctuate later-stage action.” That sentence places the unlock late in the story and says nothing about what the car does against a clock. The six other models the studio has named are broken down in the seven vehicles Rockstar has actually named.
The fast cars that were spotted, and the names nobody can give them
Chris Tsui went through the August 27, 2026 Extended Look for Jalopnik the next day and matched the quick machinery to the real cars it is drawn from: a Lamborghini Diablo, a Ferrari SF90, a Bugatti Chiron, a pink Lamborghini, a Porsche Cayman, a Nissan Skyline GT-R R32, a BMW M4, an Acura NSX. Not one gets an in-game name. Two vehicles in that piece do carry a marque, and neither is a performance car: Jason’s red convertible is a Sentinel, and the black sedan Lucia drives during the chase is a Schafter.
The cover art of June 19, 2026 runs into the same wall. IGN, which took it panel by panel, writes that the yellow scissor-door supercar is very probably a Pegassi, with no certainty and no model name. The rest of that artwork is covered in the official cover art breakdown.
Those names are missing because Rockstar has never bought a car licence. The Australian outlet carsales put it plainly on August 28, 2026: “Rockstar has never licensed a real car for a Grand Theft Auto game. Instead it invents manufacturers whose names and design cues shadow the real thing.” Its mapping table covers six marques.

Grotti is therefore the only performance marque Rockstar has named for GTA 6, and it named it for a 1995 car. Pegassi, the house that stands in for Lamborghini, appears in no Rockstar text at all: the word is legible only on a building sign, the Pegassi Residences, South Tower.
Why the GTA 5 ranking took twelve years to build
On GTA 5 the answer exists because somebody measured it, vehicle by vehicle. Tester Broughy1322 started timing laps in 2014, annoyed by 2013 YouTube videos calling the Carbonizzare the quickest car in the game, and added top speed in 2015. His methodology page reads: “With over 500 videos and 750 vehicles tested, this is my longest running series.” GTA BOOM hosts the database that came out of it, credited “Tested performance/HSW data by Broughy1322”, and it held 768 vehicle rows on September 4, 2026.
That work still leaves two serious guides with two different answers. PCGamesN, updated January 2, 2026, puts the Bravado Banshee GTS on top at 138 mph, counting base speed only. Dexerto, updated January 5, 2026, puts the same car on top at 172.5 mph. The 34.5 mph gap is not a disagreement: Dexerto counts the Hao’s Special Works upgrades, restricted to PS5 and Xbox Series X, and PCGamesN leaves them out.
Where speed is going to matter

One unknown weighs more than the others: nobody knows whether GTA 6 has an equivalent of Hao’s Special Works, the upgrade tier that moves the GTA 5 ranking by 34.5 mph on its own.
