GTA 6 real-life locations: the Miami spots rebuilt in Vice City
Vice City, the main city of GTA 6, copies Miami building by building. Miami New Times counted 20 real landmarks in the first trailer alone, from Ocean Drive down to the Seven Mile Bridge.

Vice City recreates real Miami locations, identified by the press in the GTA 6 trailers. On January 13, 2025, Miami New Times counted 20 in the first trailer, including 500 Brickell, the Loews Miami Beach and the Hotel Victor, renamed the Hotel Dixon. Dexerto matches the Sahara Arena to the Kaseya Center. Rockstar Games itself names four Vice City locations, on May 6, 2025: Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, Tisha-Wocka and the VC Port.
Vice City, the setting of Grand Theft Auto VI, out November 19, 2026, is built from real Miami towers, hotels and bridges. Rockstar Games names only four places there, on its Only in Leonida page of May 6, 2025: Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, the Tisha-Wocka flea market and the VC Port, covered in our Vice City entry. Everything else comes from the press, matching trailer frames to the city.
The fullest list belongs to Miami New Times. On January 13, 2025, Zulekha Pitts logged 20 landmarks from the first trailer, street address by street address, with an interactive Google map for anyone who wants the tour. The original spotting came from a viral X thread by the fan account GTA 6 Countdown, credited under each screenshot.

The rest of the Miami New Times count is residential: The Floridian and Murano Grande, the Green and Blue Diamond on Collins Avenue, Flamingo Point, Brickell on the River, and Jade Ocean up in Sunny Isles Beach. Two Art Deco hotels round it out, the Hilton McAlpin Ocean Plaza and the Hilton Bentley at 101 Ocean Drive, in South of Fifth.
One sign, two candidate hotels
In its list of 99 details from December 6, 2023, IGN ties the game’s Boardwalk Hotel to the Colony Hotel. Miami New Times, a year later, ties it to the Hotel Breakwater. Neither reading comes from Rockstar, and the gap stays open until launch.
Two slips in the Miami New Times coverage are worth flagging before they spread. The “1500 Ocean Drive” entry carries the Breakwater’s address, 940 Ocean Drive. And the paper’s May 7, 2025 follow-up dates the first trailer to December 2024. The first trailer came out on December 5, 2023.
What the second trailer added
That May 7, 2025 follow-up, by Ryan Yousefi, covers the second trailer, mostly around South Beach: Jason pumping iron in Lummus Park, a night pool party at what “can only be the Clevelander,” and a mural wall evoking Little Haiti with what looks like the Metrorail behind it. The city’s football team becomes the Manatees.

The Sahara Arena appears on a Rockstar press image, the night panorama of downtown. Its real-world model has carried “Welcome to Vice City” letters on its roof since September 22, 2026, under a $975,000 deal covered in the Kaseya Center sign story.
Beyond Miami, looser matches
Dexerto stretches the list across Florida. Florida State Prison stands in for the penitentiary Lucia walks out of, the Keys’ Rain Barrel Village keeps its look but swaps its giant lobster for a whale, and Ambrosia’s Allied Crystal refinery resembles the U.S. Sugar plant in Clewiston. On Port Gellhorn and Panama City, the site itself calls the match “tough to pinpoint.” The six official regions are laid out in the Vice City map guide.
All of these remain press identifications made from footage. Checking them street by street in the game starts on November 19, 2026.
